Andrew Dawson, a performance artist and movement therapist brings together an audio documentary, music and his body movements to help us understand. “The Articulate Hand” finds beauty and grace in hands that are impaired in some way. In this TEDMED talk, Andrew explores the daily life of a determined quadriplegic who uses a bionic hand, and her uniquely graceful movements.
“But the most important thing the Freehand System gave Debbie is what she most desired. And that was her independence. Cause not only could she eat on her own, but it meant that she could actually brush her hair, and she could grow her hair again.”
