Southwest is not only cost effective for tight budgets, but in the dozens of flights I have taken while traveling with people with disabilities, the staff have always gone above and beyond to make sure we are comfortable. We are never questioned about loading the plane up front, the flight attendants always welcome us and make sure we are comfortable. They ask if there is anything they can do to help, and always speak to our clients directly when asking about snacks (after checking with us to see if they are allowed to have such snacks, clearly sensitive to dietary issues...) I really don't know why anyone ever flies any other airline, but for this population, they are a cut above the rest.
