MEC is a recently-completed mosque that is part of Chicago-based MCC (Muslim Community Center), the largest and oldest Muslim community center in Chicago. This house of worship in Morton Grove is fully wheelchair accessible. Our experience during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, and the Eid day of worship and festivity was joyful, and it was especially wonderful to see several other families with children with disabilities coming there to participate and be welcomed with open arms. During the sermon (khutba), special mention was made of the mosque's accessibility, and a flyer was distributed announcing on-going efforts to make MEC, and eventually MCC, FULLY accessible.
