I have been to this hospital many times, and have always had great service. They employee a woman in the gift shop with special needs and treat her with respect, flexibility, and allow her extra time when needed. The recent parking improvements have also been wonderful.

I just saw a full page ad in our local Pioneer Press newspaper that caught my eye. It was a photo of a confident-looking young woman with Down Syndrome, beside the phrase "We honor independence day 365 days a year." Apparently Lutheran General has one of the only adult Down Syndrome centers in the U.S. I recalled the many times we went to Lutheran General Children's Hospital for services when our son, who is on the autism spectrum, was younger. We always had such positive experiences there. I hope JJ's List users who have received services from Lutheran General, including those who use the Adult Down Syndrome Center, will write reviews of this prominent area hospital.
