I agree with "ymom" about Potbelly. This was one of the first places we went to teach my son how to order and pay for food by himself. The workers there seem very happy and cheerful, so rushing is not in their repertoire. Once my son had the procedure down (you order the sandwich at one window, toppings at another), he was good to go solo. I sometimes wonder how some companies just seem to have happier employees who are willing to laugh and chat with customers, while others are cranky. What's their secret? We need more of that! Way to go, Potbelly.

We stopped into this casual eatery, which opened fairly recently, and sat down at a table right near the door to find this message attached to the table (with the wheelchair icon): "Hey Potbelly People: this seat is reserved for wheelchair access. Please vacate upon request." That impressed me! And then I noticed a sign on the wall that invited customers who needed additional assistance, to please speak to the cashier. There were wheelchair and baby stroller icons on that sign. Now I wasn't there using a wheelchair, and I didn't ask for extra help, but the signs made me feel that people with special needs might feel welcome there. I hope others who use the restaurant will add their reviews!
