Zapatista's is a family-friendly restaurant, with large portions and accommodating staff. The space between tables is wide, and the kitchen is visible from most tables. The Mexican food there is delicious.

Had a great lunch today. I arrived a little early, but since hostess Claire saw me waiting outside, she unlocked the doors to let me in, even though it wasn't quite opening time yet. I was the first customer of the day and sat in the bar area. Claire was exceptionally nice, informative, and even took some time to chat with me during my lunch. She made me feel as if I wasn't having lunch all by myself, treating me like a person as opposed to a number. Both she and the manager, whom I know from previous visits, both helped make my experience positively great!

Great new accessible restaurant in the Willow Festival Plaza in Northbrook. Good food, great service, great ambience! Plus...you have your choice of tables, booths and even some private seating areas. Zapatista willingly supported JJ's List during our recent benefit, and the manager was enthusiastic about working with JJ's List in the future. He seemed flexible and very accommodating. Give Zapatista a try the next time you're looking for an upscale place to get Mexican food.
