I have worked with two counselors at Family Service Center, and found them both to be helpful. The office in Wilmette is NOT wheelchair-accessible, but I understand that, through an arrangement with a local church, counseling sessions can be held at the church's accessible space when necessary. FSC's two other sites -- in Glenview and Northbrook -- may be accessible.

The counselors I've met seem to be sensitive to disability issues, but I can't speak about the organization's overall commitment to disability-aware service, or about the counselors' skill at working with individuals or families living with disability. Perhaps FSC clients who are living with or touched by disability will write their own reviews about their experiences with FSC. I do know that the organization uses a sliding fee scale for fees, and is active in the communities it serves -- Wilmette, Glenview, Kenilworth and Northbrook.
