Terrible!
Terrible!

I saw an Anixter van parked in a parking lot with two developmentally disabled adults left in the back. There were no windows rolled down. From the minute that I saw the van until a person returned to it was 21 minutes. It was over 80 degrees outside. The driver was inside Trader Joes buying food and chose not to bring her passengers in with her to assist. So not only did the driver leave these two adults inside the vehicle without the windows down on a hot day, but she chose not to bring them in with her to Trader Joes to shop. One can only wonder if this was their community outing as well?

Anixter needs to screen their employees more carefully and do on the job monitoring to make sure that the job description is being followed.

Noah is a participant in Anixter Center's ACT (Adult Community Transition) Program. He LOVES it! He is out in the community every day, doing important volunteer work, like Meals on Wheels. He exercises at the "Y" in Northbrook or walks the track in Glenview or Highland Park, he has lunch out with his friends, and he patronizes local businesses.
The program staff is outstanding and Anixter Center managment is supportive.
Noah has said that he cannot imagine life with ACT. Many of his long time friends are also part of the program and he has met and made many new friends. There is a sense of community, a sense of self-worth and continued growth and learning at ACT.

I'm reviewing Annixter Center's website for accessibility. Their site is very accessible with the System Access screen reader, and I'm assuming other screen readers work well too on this site. The reason is that the site appears to be text-based. My only problem is that there is an unlabeled link at the bottom of the page. When I clicked this link, I was taken to the website for a restaurant which appears to be a partner of Annixter Center.
