My son saw Dr. Colis when he accidentally got a small shard of metal in his eye. She doesn't know it and she doesn't "bill herself" as this, but Dr. Colis is THE ophthalmologist to go to when you have a child or teenager with special needs. I couldn't believe she was able remove that piece of metal from his eye without a papoose or medications. I jokingly refer to her as the "horse whisperer" of eye doctors. Calm, soothing, almost hypnotic... she was able to talk him through a difficult procedure. She was kind, compassionate, understanding of a mother's needs/anxiety, too.
I recently referred my nephew, allso with special needs and his family to Dr. Colis. They had a similar positive experience.
