Glenkirk’s mission is to provide lifetime supports and services which empower individuals with developmental disabilities to participate fully in all areas of community life.
Created in 1954 as a school for children with developmental disabilities, Glenkirk is now one of the largest non profits of its kind in the state of Illinois. Glenkirk currently serves over 1,200 individuals with developmental disabilities from infants to seniors, encompassing over 70 communities in the Chicagoland area.
Glenkirk provides a wide range of programs and services. Services include vocational, residential and support services for Early Intervention, respite care, adoption, advocacy and therapies-such as social work, occupational, physical and speech therapies

The staff at Genkirk were very welcoming to our. team. I really enjoyed presetting for them today.

We, the members of the Glenkirk Advocacy Committee, both work and live at Glenkirk programs. We really do like our staff. We feel Glenkirk offers good programs, such as counseling. Kim, Nicole, and the interns are caring and supportive.
We would like to have more paid work. When we do have work, it is real work with a real paycheck!
Glenkirk gives us the opportunity to be part of the family experience and to live with our friends. The staff have a tough job, but do try hard to meet our special needs.

i enjoy going to glenkirk cause l like working with the staff there. my job at glenkirk is bubble wrapping, folding boxes, and shredding. the staff members help me with my jobs. i like their help because they are friendly and nice and always willing to help me with work. you can get a job there if you have a disabillty. i still enjoy going there but the work is alright sometimes they dont have much stuff to do all the time that im there. their seems to be alot of staff members who leave and new staff seem to be coming in and out. i like getting paid for the work that i do there. i like the consumers who come in because the are very friendly and nice to me when i come in everyday to work.
