Although I do not live in Evanston (yet), I do work in this city, and I think it's really nice. There's lots to do there, and I like the fact that it's urban and suburban at the same time. It's a good place to live or visit if you want easy access to public transportation, but don't want to live in a big city such as Chicago.

Evanston is not nice to people with disabilities or people of color other than black or white. Lots of people, myself included, have been barred from stores, the Main Library and City Hall so that they can NOT voice their opinions at meetings. That is what they do to people they think are less desirable. In this way they are trying to protect who uses the stores and the library because they think less desirable, different people are not good for the business of the wealthy white residents and NU students.

Disability Awareness:   would like to know how many people they have barred

The city of Evanston is not very disability friendly, OR accessable to races besides Black or White people. (like they haven't gotten used enough to the black people to deal with other race people or people with disabilities.) A case in point, myself being barred from certain stores just for looking around, like they assume I have no money or will scare the wealthy white residents and NU students away. Some people are barred from the Main Library even (for falling asleep or eating snacks and stuff like that) I have heard that there are people barred from the CITY HALL so that they CANNOT go to city council meetings and voice their opinion. That is how they "silence" people who they see as Less Desirable and violate civil rights. Also I've tried to talk to the social workers at the police department but they are never there.
