I went on a trip to Jewel earlier this week on Monday. My plan was to find someone who works there, once I got into the store and ask them some questions about Jewel. I found an employee at Jewel and explained to them that I am from No Boundaries. The employee then took me to the manager and I explained to the manager who I was and that I am from No Boundaries and asked her some questions about Jewel. The manager gave me a lot of good information about Jewel. She told me a lot about promotions and some discounts that they have. For example, they have a military discounts for 10%. Overall, I had a good experience at Jewel, because the manager gave me a lot of good information and she was nice to take time out of her schedule to talk with me.

I went shopping last night and at the deli counter I try different samples of roast beef. And the lady at the deli counter was very nice and patient with me. Then when I checked out I asked to make sure that I got the sale on 10 yogurts for $6 and all she would say is that each of them is 89 cents but I can't do math in my head. One of the mangers is all ways in a bad mood, and yelling at other employees,and other staff mangers and he also is a smoker and is always smoking in front of the store. see this manger acting like this would if it were not able to be stopped would make me go to the jewel-osco on greenbay road. I went to Jewel/Osco with a student. We had a list of ingredients to buy in the store. The store is very big and it is split up between Jewel and Osco. The food products are on one side of the store. We used the signs to help us look for where the ingredients were. The signs were helpful. We did not see anyone working in the store to help us. The prices were easy to see and decide which one was cheaper. When we checked out, the cashier was nice. She was not rushed and was patient while we counted our money. It didn't take very long to finish shopping.
Jewel/Osco is on Chicago Avenue in Evanston. It is a very busy street and if you have to cross over the street, it can be dangerous. I suggest walking on the West side of the street, so you don't have cross the busy street.

I have been a regular Jewel customer for awhile. I've shopped with assistance from personal shoppers at the store located on Chicago Avenue here in Evanston. I've had mixed results doing this. I've had some very knowledgeable shoppers and then some not-so-knowledgeable ones. The groceries are then delivered to my apartment. Lately though, my life-skills tutor from Center for Independent Futures has been shopping with me and we just bring the groceries home ourselves. I've always been very happy with the quality of items I purchase, and I like the fact that people with disabilities are employed there.
