I graduated from Loras in 2016. The disability service program at this school is fantastic. Everyone that worked in the office was very friendly and respectful. Students that were enrolled in this program got the opportunity of taking a "welcome to college" type class during their first year. I took that class, and I found it to be very helpful for all four years I was at Loras. I also liked how you were assigned to an advisor who helped you with things such as time management, studying for tests, and how to interact with your professors and classmates. Outside of the program, I found everyone I met at Loras, both students and staff, to be very friendly and welcoming. The school offered many programs, organizations, and classes to ensure all of its students felt welcome and included.
Disability Awareness:
Welcoming, Talked to me person-to-person, Asked me if I needed or wanted help, Friendly, Gave me choices, Gave me extra time, Respectful, Helpful when I needed assistance or accommodation, Has employees with disabilities, Flexible service, Physically accessible, Other, Accessible Parking, Offers programs and services for students with disabilities
They provide outstanding academic support for students with disabilities, and for the most part the professors are very understanding. I think they could have better support in terms of student life. Also, it might be difficult for a person with a physical disability to get around the campus
