Our small group of three participants and two staff went to Dunkin Donuts for a coffee club outing. We went a couple days after a snow storm and the accessible parking space was still half covered in snow. The parking lot in general is very small and it was hard for our bus to fit. The store was recently remodeled and looked very nice and clean. The store was also spacious enough for us to walk through. The food was great as always. We got donuts, smoothies and hash-browns. The Dunkin donuts staff was friendly but they spent more time talking to our staff than to us (the participants). We noticed that they were also staring at us a lot during our visit. We did not use the restrooms this time, but they are spacious and accessible for people with disabilities.

Disability Awareness:   Welcoming, Friendly, Flexible service, Physically accessible, Accessible Parking, They have accessible parking, but it is not always clear

I went to the Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Lake Cook Rd. in Deerfield with a young man who has developmental disabilities. The manager, Luis, was awesome. The young man wanted to understand the differences among the sizes of coffee, and when he asked the clerk, she described it in terms of ounces. The individual with disabilities was unable to discern the volumes in terms of amount, so the manager stepped in and took the 3 sizes of cups from their respective dispensers and gave the young man a visual example from which he could make a decision. Luis was not only very patient, but respectful and friendly to the young man.
