I just received a copy of Autism Speaks' new Transition Tool Kit, which is described as a guide to assist families on the journey from adolescence to adulthood. I have looked through it, and it seems thorough. It provides guidance on self-advocacy, transition plans, community living, employment, post-secondary education, housing, legal matters, health, internet & technology and getting organized. The Tool Kit is long (over 100 pages), but can be downloaded at no-cost. I think it's something that would be helpful to high school transition teachers, as well as families.
