Search Inc is excited to be part of Evanston’s 2020 Year of Kindness and Nonviolent Action (YKNA), a Public Art and Community Engagement initiative that uses the transformative power of the arts to bring people together around the common goal of fostering an inclusive and peaceful community. This initiative is managed by an Advisory Council that includes social service and arts organizations, artists and Evanston residents. They will be hosting workshops, performances and exhibits throughout the year.
Two representatives from Search Inc participated in the positive and electric YKNA kickoff event which included a collaborative art project, poetry reading, storytelling, live music and networking. Sarah Armour, JJ’sList.com’s Business Assistant, shared information about the JJ’sList.com Disability Awareness Trainings, and Tina Zemen, Visibility Arts Manager, shared information about Search Inc’s Visibility Arts Program.
Search is looking forward to creating connections around kindness and nonviolent action, spreading disability awareness and sharing our talents with the Evanston community this year.
