Cupcakes and Conversation

Have you ever avoided talking with a person who has a disability
because you’re afraid you’ll say the wrong thing?

Cupcakes & Conversation
You and your friends are invited to “Cupcakes & Conversation”, where you can build confidence and comfort to interact positively with individuals who have disabilities. Get your questions answered and learn how to “sighted-guide” a person who is blind or who has a visual impairment. Visitors will find useful tips and facts about disability and disability awareness throughout the store. Specially-made Whole Foods cupcakes will be served to celebrate disability awareness!

Do Good As You Shop
5% of the day’s net sales will be donated to JJ’s List to support our employment readiness programs for people with disabilities, so save your grocery shopping for Aug 29 at Whole Foods Market Evanston South. Bring your friends and family!

Who’s behind this?
This event will be jointly hosted by Whole Foods Market Evanston South and JJ’s List, a non-profit organization that trains teens and adults with disabilities in technology and digital literacy for employment readiness.
