jjslist.com 2013 Non-Profit of the Year

Disability awareness is something we live and breathe at jjslist.com. While we enjoy our work we know there is a lot still to be done, especially when it comes to the business sector. How can businesses learn to communicate with individuals with disabilities the right way? What does it even mean to be disability-aware? What does it mean in a business setting? Will the changes I make, as a business owner, improve my bottom line? These are questions we chose to tackle in 2013 and are addressing this year.

Skokie Chamber of CommerceAs the Skokie Chamber of Commerce 2013 Non-Profit of The Year, we are honored to know that businesses are becoming more and more interested in how disability-aware business practices can improve customer service and employment.  Several businesses are beginning the process of earning the jjslist.com Disability-Aware Business Seal of Approval, joining Duxler Complete Auto Care in promoting disability awareness internally and externally.

Thank you to the Skokie Chamber of Commerce for this honor, and thank you to our supporters and the various volunteers that continue to spread the word about disability awareness. Please join us for the 89th Board Installation & Member Awards Luncheon, Friday, January 24, 2014. Please click here for more information.
