This past year, we were thrilled to resume in-person trainings, continue our momentum with virtual offerings and welcome new Disability Awareness Players. As we are nearing the end of the year, we would like to pause and thank our community for their continued support as we reflect on our accomplishments this year.
Please read on for our 2022 recap!
In 2022, we…
- Hosted 20 workshops
- Had 437 participants
- Trained 131 staff members at East Aurora High School, Little City and Nile Township
Disability Awareness Trainings (DATs)
- Hosted 17 DATs at 15 businesses and 2 schools
- Had 442 audience members

Hear from some of our Players on their favorite memories and what they are looking forward to in 2023:
Lanni S: “The best part of being a player for me was not just telling people but visually showing them how to interact and communicate with people who have disabilities. What I myself learned was how to correctly use person-first language. I’m excited and ready to do more work in educating people, companies and organizations in person-first language.”
Sarah ST: “I like to teach people about disabilities and that we are just like the all the rest of the people in the world. All I’ve learned is wonderful!”
Sarah A: “The best part of being a player is helping to break down barriers of the audiences and help them see people with disabilities in a new light. I look forward to training different companies and schools in 2023.”
