Even Museums Can Get Disability Awareness Trainings!

Posted by on November 7, 2016 - 0 Comments

The Disability Awareness Players went to the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago for yet another successful Disability Awareness Training.  Thanks again to the Reva and David Logan Foundation for making this event possible.  The staff was very engaged, and everyone enjoyed the presentation. Here’s what a few participants had to say of the event:

“I loved the interaction that was shown in the training, it was easier for me to understand that there are ways to communicate better with people with disabilities.”

“I was really impressed by all the players and think it was great. The role playing was a great way to get to know everyone.”

“I am friends with an individual with physical and cognitive disabilities and have watched her experience many of the scenarios that were depicted. I really enjoyed watching the role playing and seeing the scenarios in a positive light. It was wonderful!”

“This is such a needed service. Thank you for confronting some of the issues and for giving very solid hands-on advice.”

Thanks to all who attended, and we look forward to the next training!
