Disability Awareness Players Share Their Experiences With Filmmakers

Posted by on February 16, 2017 - 2 Comments

Last week, our Disability Awareness Players trained a group of filmmakers at Kartemquin Films to be disability aware. In addition to the training, the Players shared their experiences with living with a disability, as well as their thoughts on disability representation in the media. It was a very engaging and fun experience for our Players. We received a lot of positive feedback as a result, including this quote from one of the audience members:

“As someone without a disability, I know it’s my responsibility to educate myself, but I really appreciate the thoughtful and candid work of the Players.”

We look forward to the next training.

This blog really held my interest because it is very interesting to have kids with disabilities in film-making.
