Ten Thousand Villages is an exceptional source for unique handmade gifts, jewelry, home decor, art and sculpture. textiles, serveware and personal accessories representing the diverse cultures of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. One of the world's largest fair trade organizations and a founding member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), the company strives to improve the livelihood of tens of thousands of disadvantaged artisans in 38 countries. Ten Thousand Villages accomplishes this by establishing a sustainable market for handmade products in North America, and building long term buying relationships in places where skilled artisan partners lack opportunities for stable income. Product sales help pay for food, education, healthcare and housing for artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed.

My tutor Dave and I walked to this store today to do some holiday shopping, and had a nice experience. We found what I was looking for right away, and went up to pay for the item. The cashier addressed me directly, and immediately noticed my JJ's List T-shirt. Thanks to the organization JJ's List for giving it to me. I have known about this store for several years, but today was only my second visit. Definitely returning here sometime.

I have been going and help out with events in the past. I want to keep working and helping out as a volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages. I know a lot of people who work there, and I have a roommate who used to work there. When i come in to the store they all ways ask me if I want coffee and they are very nice. I like to look around the store, they have a lot of different plates, CDs and clothing. They talk directly to the customer and have an employee working there with a disability. They are extremely flexible when it comes to providing customer service, and are friendly and respectful. I can't wait to go back and volunteer at Ten Thousand Villages.
