I had another Peapod delivery last night. The delivery was several minutes late, but the driver was very apologetic and friendly. He put the bags of groceries right where I told him to put them, and he also assisted me in signing for my order. He informed me that one of the items I had requested was out of stock and asked me if the substitution was okay. This turned out only to be a change in yogurt flavors, which I like so that was fine by me. I put all groceries away myself. This was my first time ordering from Peapod using the Mac. Their site recently went through an overhaul and is mostly accessible with VoiceOver, but I had an odd problem which I'm still trying to figure out. It doesn't appear to be accessibility-related, but I'll know soon hopefully..

It takes forever to get my daughter out of the house, and sometimes during bad weather, it's impossible. With Peapod, I can order the groceries and household supplies that I need, and they magically appear at the door the next day. There is a huge variety of food and necessities, and the produce and perishable items are always very fresh--no bruised fruit! There are also organic and gluten-free foods for people with allergies and sensitivities. The food comes packed in giant coolers, so select "attended delivery" when possible, because if unattended, the driver will leave these enormous boxes, which you have to store until the next delivery. However, you can arrange for a special pickup. The drivers are very friendly and will help you bring the heavy items into the house. Also, a child who craves computer time can help you place an order, so it's educational and fun.

Peapod is great. I place an order a week, the delivery is timely, the website remembers your previous orders for easy product location, they allow you to change your order as many times as needed until the pick cutoff and they even list your previously purchased when the are on special.

The delivery person carries my order to a convenient location for put away.

They make grocery shopping at home a positive alternative to going to the store. It's basically grocery shopping without all the extra distractions. It's a godsend. It's fun, convenient, and easy to do.

I have had wonderful experiences with Peapod's grocery delivery service. The drivers are very good about helping me with placing my groceries where I need them, and have even offered to put the huge containers of detergent by my washing machine (when I get that). They also have offered to help me put things away, but I decline this because I know they are on a tight schedule and I don't mind doing it. In addition, when I have called customer service, I have always received prompt help, and they have handled my concerns very well (especially when I was first getting used to the service). The service is a little extra money, as previous reviewers have said, but it is well worth it!

I'm reviewing the Peapod website for accessibility. I'd say for the most part, this website is very accessible with the System Access screen reader. However, there are a few unlabeled links and buttons which might not be good for a new user. But I've used the site so many times now that I've become familiar with the exact layout. I did also use this site with the JAWS for Windows screen reader, and it left a lot to be desired as far as accessibility.

Peapod is an online grocery service that is accessed by going to http://www.peapod.com . There is a toll-free customer service hotline at 1-800-5PEAPOD, which translates to 1-800-573-2763. Users of the service first register for a free account. A confirmation message will be sent to the email address provided during account signup. Then users may browse the aisles and select items for purchase. After shopping is complete, users check out and provide their billing information and select a delivery date and time. The website is mostly accessible using the System Access screen reader on Windows Vista, but my life-skills tutor from CIF had to help me a little bit. The website states that the drivers who handle delivery are friendly, and this morning was no exception. I requested on my order that the driver bring my groceries directly up to my apartment, and he did. He set them where I requested, and I asked him to help me sign the receipt. He also did this. He then left and I put away all my groceries. As far as I can tell, I got everything I ordered. I did have a bit of prior experience with Peapod, and that was very positive as well. It is a little more expensive than Jewel, Dominicks or perhaps some other grocery stores, but well worth the bucks!
