Great!
Great!

I took a cab from Skokie to O'Hare. The driver is very punctual and friendly. The flat rate is $30 with tax and toll, which is really acceptable. I think they have accessible cabs as well.

If you don't mind having your wallet, money, and credit cards disappear, or if you want to make a cab driver at 303 Taxi really happy when he takes $200 of your money and uses your credit cards minutes after you leave the cab, sure, go ahead and call 303. As for me, NEVER AGAIN.

working there for 6 months the drivers are treated like crap
Junk cars.Theres a constant running ad on craigslist looking for suckers to drive there cars claiming you can make $1000 to $1500 per week which is possible if like driving the cab 20 hours a day. I have done this and actually made $1200 clocking in a whooping 100 hours that week, after paying the company $490 for the lease and used $510 in fuel left me $200 I made per hour was $1.82. I done everything I was told and even went far beond regular duties as taking customers in my own car when theres are always breaking down. I made no money.
It amazes me that they have accounts to take children to and from school and have acct with pace bus, with so much driver fatigue this is unbelievable! I was always falling asleep at the wheel.

I spoke with Anna at 303 regarding an incident reported on JJ's list by a man who was harrased by a driver. The driver became angry because the rider participates in the City of Evanston's taxi cab coupon program for people with disabilities. Anna returned my calls, she was aware of the posting on JJ's list regarding the incident. She was able to identify the driver from the order # and name of the passenger. She assured me that the driver would face very significant consequences. She also mentioned a training program for promoting appropriate driver behavior. It would be great if the JJ's List Players could help 303 drivers learn disability aware service. Anna communicated her support of the Taxi Cab voucher program and assured me 303 is commited to giving good service to people with disabilities.

Disability Awareness:   Other, The customer service person was responsive to report of the driver's behavior.

It was a very odd morning in 303 cab. The cab driver asked me if I had money. I told him that I had a coupon plue money for tip. He yelled and said what coupon? He swore about the coupons and then asked for my id. I showed him my City of Evanston Benefit Card that shows I am eligible for Taxi Coupons. He handed it back to me.

Then he sped to my destination (way faster than usual) and then he shouted and told me get out after we got to aldi.

More often than not, cab drivers seem annoyed and frustrated by folks using cab vouchers. This is not acceptable. Cab companies need to train their cab drivers to understand what the coupons are for and not to give customers any grief about using them. Cab drivers who are rude and inappropriate with customers should be reprimanded.

I'm reviewing 303 Taxi's website for accessibility. Their site is for the most part not accessible with any screen readers that I've used. The website uses flash in several places, and this flash player does not work well. I tried to contact the company regarding this, but even that part is inaccessible. It is possible to order cabs online from 303, but I'd recommend just calling in your order.

Disability Awareness:   Unwelcoming, Avoided me, Ignored me, Unfriendly, Disrespectful, Unwilling or unhelpful when I needed assistance or accommodations, Some of the flash players out there work well but this one doesn't.

Our high school freshman rides home in a 303 Taxi through 303's school division. A communication problem about an after-school activity that was cancelled meant that my son was at home sitting in the cab in the driveway, and I was in another suburb. When I arrived, I found him still sitting in the cab. I was relieved! His driver had waited 15 minutes for me to get home. Now that's the kind of disability-aware service that makes parents feel that their kids and young adults are safe.

I have mixed feelings about 303 Taxi. Our school district contracted with 303 and my son used the school services division for 6 years. I had issues with some of the drivers and their temperament/training. Some of the problems: a smoker (who smoked outside of the cab while curbside-- the cab itself reeked), a regular speedy/horn-blowing driver (who often sped away from the curb before the seatbelts were on), a driver who egged on some of the kids in the cab to irritate each other (by asking the same question repeatedly ) provoking some sort of daily ritual until he obtained an irritable response and laughed along with the other, older child in the cab. Bullying? Immature? I agree with the others that Margie does her absolute best to coordinate the details and responded to feedback but was not always in a position to change things. For instance, she seemed to know immediately about the one driver who was bullying in the cab and even shared that when reprimanded, he laughed out loud and discounted her. She was able to get him off of our route but I was surprised to see him dropping off a different batch of district kids at the same school. (In other words, he simply switched clients but was not pulled out of the school division.)

My rating: I would recommend 303 Cab with reservation. Yes, Margie and her staff are trying hard and doing a decent job of coordinating the many details. The most important thing, though, is who you get as a driver. I question what, if any, training the drivers receive in handling special needs kids and I also question their recruiting and personnel practices with regard to placement.

My son Noah used 303 Taxi while he was in school through NSSED. We have been thrilled to maintain our relationship with Marge who handles school transportation services, over the past two years since Noah has been out of school. I email her weekly with Noah's cab ride needs, she acknowledges the request and that is all it takes to arrange Noah's cab rides each week. In addition, Marge has done everything possible to make suer that we have the same driver, Victor, most of the time. Victor is an independent contractor who does an outstanding job. He even bought Noah a wallet with a chain that attaches to his belt, since Noah was always losing his wallet in Victor's cab. We have gotten great service, and I feel that Noah is safe and very comfortable.

I have used this cab company in the past to get various places, and for the most part I was very pleased. Sometimes, however, I had drivers who didn't speak or understand English that well and it was hard to communicate with them. I also had to report a couple drivers I had when I first started using the service, because they were rude and unpleasant and were unresponsive to my needs. I think said drivers were dealt with accordingly though. For the most part I'd say 303 Taxi is okay. One thing I like about them is that several times when I called and ordered a cab, they automatically knew where I was calling from and where I needed to go.

Our son rode in a 303 taxi to and from school for years, beginning when he was only 4 years old. For much of that time, he had a wonderful driver, Lev, who was always concerned about his safety and comfort., and always kept us informed of delays. The long-time school transportation coordinator, Margie, and her staff are caring, efficient, and detail-oriented. Although we haven't used cab service the past couple of years, I called Margie recently when we needed a cab to the airport. She remembered us, was very warm, and contacted Lev to drive us to our plane. In addition to school transport, 303 Taxi is involved in transport for vocational programs, and work with many of the area's school districts and private schools. I can't speak for the experience of others, but we always found 303 to be reliable and accommodating.
