The Mexican Shop has been a constant on Dempster Street in Evanston for a long time. My husband of twenty-two years bought earrings for me there when we were dating! This boutique carries unique clothes, purses, jewelry, and other accessories that would won't find just anywhere. The Mexican Shop is accessible, relatively easy to maneuver, and well-lit, though some of the jewelry displays are up high and difficult for someone in a wheelchair to view. Over the years that I have shopped there, the staff is usually friendly and helpful. The store does have very strict return and exchange policies, and it is best to ask about them up front.
The Mexican Shop has been a mainstay in the community and is a good place to find gifts.
