This is in response to Julie Julitz who came in to open an account for a disabled person. BankFinancial does in fact open accounts for people with disabilities... some of whom are my favorite clients. The comments and misrepresentation of facts left by Julie on this site were the result of a terrible misunderstanding from a situation involving a bank employee practicing due diligence in an attempt to protect a client's financial interests. I work for District 99 Transition program, teaching young adults life skills which includes maintaining a checking account. Much to our surprise Bank Financial, and I quote, "Will not open an account for a disabled person." After being refused the opportunity to open a checking account by the assistant branch manager I asked for clarification and was told multiple times that Bank Financial, at their discretion, chooses not to open checking accounts for disabled people.
