We take our students w/ special needs to this grocery store and the staff are always helpful and friendly. One of our students does grocery delivery to families with children that have disabilities. He chose to use Fresh Market because the staff is so helpful and welcoming of him. The aisles are a little tight but it is accessible.

I agree with the previous reviewers-- Fresh Market in Wilmette has employees who go out of their way to help people with disabilities. Last week, a customer came into the store who was unable to walk without a great deal of assistance. They asked this person HOW he would like to be helped. The man wished to be seated while the store employees helped locate the items on his list. I think this is a beautiful example of customer service-- not only were they willing to go the extra mile but they involved the individual in decisions about how best to help him. Talk about respect! I have been shopping here since Fresh Market opened several years ago. Sometimes their prices can be higher, and it is a smaller store, but I am loyal to businesses that are disability-friendly/aware because I have a teenager with a disability. I hope that the employees at this store know that we appreciate their disability-friendly practices.

We often take our students on Life Skill trips to Fresh Market to buy ingredients for recipes they are learning how to make in class. The staff is always very helpful and accomodating to our needs which can vary from physical to cognitive. They go above and beyond with their customer service and always do it with a smile. We love taking our students to Fresh Market and will continue to promote them as a disability friendly grocery store!

This is a beautiful food store that offers lots of delicious ready-to-cook and prepared food. They also have great produce, flowers, baked goods, coffees and teas too. It's a great place to take kids with special needs because it's not overwhelming size-wise, is so appealing visually, and smells like your grandmother's kitchen. There are usually free samples, which makes shopping more fun. And the people who work there are friendly and helpful. They recently had an "apple festival" at the store, at which kids could make their own caramel apples, and snack on "everything apple." Sometimes, when we need a little outing on a rainy afternoon, we drive there for a leisurely shopping trip, buy something special from the bakery, and go home and enjoy it together. The food is not inexpensive, but when you go to Fresh Market, you feel like you've been on a little food adventure!

I've taken the pace bus to The Fresh Market by myself. I was recently there by myself. When I walked into the store, I was getting a cart. I got a different cart and put the other one back. One of the employees asked me if I wanted to use their cart, but I just used my cart. It's fun to order food at the deli. It hasn't been too hard to order food from the deli. The guys at the deli were helpful when I ordered my food. When I was finding some pretzels, one of the guys that work at the store were showing me certain kinds of pretzels. I asked the guy if one of them were regular pretzels and he said they were. Whenever I look for certain foods, the guys are usually helpful when they show me where the foods are. When I've checked out, I've made sure I had the right amount of change. There was a guy working at the check out line named Jules. Jules just took my cart and put the items on the check out belt. After I paid for my food, I just left the store and took the pace bus home. The Fresh Market is a fun grocery store to go to.
