Illinois State Rep Robyn Gabel was among hundreds of customers who participated in the JJ’s List 5% Day at Whole Foods Market Evanston South! Here’re some of the highlights from Aug 29:
We posted facts on disability awareness all around the store, so Whole Foods customers could learn as they shopped!
State Representative Robyn Gabel was one of the customers who learned about Sighted Guiding for people who have visual disabilities from JJ’s List team members Jake and Sandra!
Customers were also encouraged to write a review of Whole Foods Market
and its disability-aware customer service on jjslist.com!
And because Whole Foods Market Evanston South so generously donated 5% of nett sales that day to JJ’s List, and customers were kindly making donations at our table, all of you helped pull in a total of $3200! (Thanks to you, we also outperformed many other 5% day recipients!) The money raised will go towards our employment readiness training programs for people with disabilities. If you weren’t able to make it out but would still like to make a contribution, you can make your donation by clicking here.
A big, big thank you to Bridget Isaia and the lovely team at Whole Foods Market Evanston South, to our volunteers for helping to drum up the wonderful buzz, and to YOU for your amazing support!
And no, we didn’t forget. If you took part in our raffle to win a $100 Whole Foods Market Gift Card (kindly sponsored by our board member Dana), you’re probably itching to know if you’re a winner! Well, watch this space because we’ll be announcing the winner really soon!
