An Open Letter To the LGBT Community From JJsList.com

Dearest LGBT Community,40683ee9bbf0550d57cb961e4c9be5b1

The people working towards disability awareness at JJsList.com would like to show solidarity with the people working towards LGBT rights in response to the momentous #SCOTUS decision to legalize Marriage Equality in all fifty states of the United States.

The simple right to live an unencumbered and accessible life is such an elusive reality for many people.  It could be the simple difficulty of getting up three or four steps in a doorway or hearing an important background conversation but it could also be the actual rejection of two people’s right to be together.

It is quite fitting that in this 25th year of the Americans with Disabilities Act, we are reminded that there are civil rights movements taking place all over the country.  The job of raising awareness about the human condition is a thankless one but it is also an incredibly inspiring and motivating mission when achievements such as today’s Supreme Court ruling are finalized.

So it is with great pleasure and admiration, our community of individuals with disabilities gives a shout out of congratulations to the LGBT civil rights movement.  We are here for you and many of us are amongst your ranks.

Enjoy today.  We’ll work with you tomorrow to continue the job!

Best Regards,

The Staff at JJsList.com
